How to make decisions as an entrepreneur!

There is more to being an entrepreneur than just managing a business. Yes, sales, marketing and customer service are the core of your success strategy but have you ever wondered how decision making might be another key attribute? Whenever we are faced with a big decision we tend to do one of two things- go ahead with the least harmful option or dawdle over the choices until we build up so much anxiety that we become paralysed when it comes to making a choice.

Tough decisions like financing options, choosing suppliers or even taking on new employees might leave us stumped as we consider all the factors at play. Here are some tips on how to make the best choice.

Remember that being an entrepreneur is equal parts decision maker and innovator so this skill is one that you need to hone.
  • Get it on Paper
I'm sure you've heard this one before but many people tend to go over the same thoughts in their heads thereby crowding out any possibility to rationally assess the subject. Writing it down allows your brain to sift through the possibilities to select the best response.
  • Don't be a victim of analysis paralysis
Sometimes too much information can be a bad thing. When faced with an important choice not only because it diverts your attention from the main point but it can lead you to fixate on the negatives.
  • Go with your Gut
I'll go out on a limb and say that for the majority of the time you already know which path to take, the problem is re-assuring your doubtful mind about the impending choice. Listen to your inner voice and trust your intuition.
No matter the choice you will always adapt to the outcome.
