How to Prioritise your Time

It's always moving, never standing still. It's one resource that just seems to get away from the majority of folks. How often have you heard 'The year is flying so fast-just now will be Christmas!' or my personal favourite 'I don't know where the time went' Sure, time is something that is limited but that doesn't mean that you can't be smart about how you use it. Many people complain that there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything they need to and yet still find the time to pursue their true passions.
So just how can you create the balance?
I'll share with you how...
  • Step 1: Take note of your major Roles- Are you a business person, dad, employee or team mate? What are the major roles that you perform on a daily or weekly basis?


  • Step 2: Assign the major tasks that you would have to carry out to meet these roles.

Five hours at the office
Home work with your child 2 hours a day/6 days a week?
Volunteering 2 times a week

  • Step 3: Prioritise them in order of importance- This essentially would be your schedule or work plan


  • Step 4: Pencil in time for Yourself- An empty gas tank can't take a vehicle far, so too when you're running on empty without re-charging your batteries the quality of your work will suffer so make sure to take time for yourself doing something you love at least once per week.
