I recently launched my new website www.hashspacemkg.com! and I am skipping with excitement. I tried (regrettably) for a very long time to control the look and feel of my website. I wanted it to be perfect ! I wanted my business running seamlessly before launching it because I had an ideal image of what it should represent in my mind. However, after months and months started passing by with little progress I finally decided to relinquish control and get an expert involved.
I must say, I am impressed by the final product and as a small business owner I do not know why I procrastinated for so long. The benefits of the e-commerce website were almost instance. Instant visibility! Instant feedback from family and friends! Instant connectivity and integration with my social media sites.
Many small businesses in Trinidad continue to exist as complete offline entities. Although traditional methods of pursuing and acquiring customers are still relevant and necessary, it is quite risky to continue following this strategy when customers are spending more time online.
It is important to have a website, whether you are promoting a business or as a part of a personal branding initiative. A website is meant to showcase your expertise, experience and your personality or that of your business. Your customers should be able to contact you, interact and engage with your content…and don’t let the idea of starting a website intimidate you. There are so many FREE and paid for platforms that possess DIY features.
The online world has so many facets to building a digital brand that sometimes we can get overwhelmed…but I want to suggest to any small business owner or entrepreneur, building a solid platform starts with your website!
